Counselling is a process of helping someone to recognise, face, accept and resolve problems. We live in a complex and a challenging world which is getting more complex day by day. We are more like in a race where we are in constant competition and somewhere we forget to spend time with our loved ones and even with our own self. Most of the time, this becomes the sole reason for all the problems. Many times people experience difficult situations and our resources fail to sort it out. Most of the time, we find ways of dealing with such problems by talking to family, friends etc. But what about the situation when their advice become insufficient, or we are too ashamed to tell about our problem, or we don’t find an appropriate person to talk to. This is when counselling is required. Counselling is a form of Psychotherapy that aims to assist people who are experiencing problems in various areas including relationship problems, academic or school related problems, depression, anxiety, trauma and issues from the past that negatively affect the person’s daily functioning.
